Inspired by a poem written by Lemn Sissay, And Everything Is Still... was commissioned by the Royal Northern College of Music & was premiered in its original version of flute and piano in June 2008.
Since then the composer has been asked to arrange AEIS for many different combinations of instruments with the piece subsequently being regularly performed worldwide and featured on multiple recordings.
“I was delighted when the brilliant musician Imogen Whitehead approached me in 2024 about creating a new version of the piece for flugelhorn and piano. We worked closely to create a version that really suited the flugelhorn, I am very grateful to Imogen for her time and expertise.” Andy Scott
Imogen Whitehead has recorded And Everything Is Still... on her debut album CONNECTION (WOS175) with pianist Jennifer Walsh, which was released in 2025.
