This Edition is based on the handwritten manuscript of Eileen Pakenham. Staccato marks were used to indicate non tremolo. These have been removed and replaced by Right Hand stroking by the Editor. The performer is free to add staccato articulations to reflect the character of the piece.
Performance markings (e.g dynamics, tempo) are all as in the handwritten manuscript.
Notes for mandolin & mandola players:
All tremolo notes are shown. Notes which are written under one slur should be played using continuous tremolo.
Intro, figures A and B use tremolo unless otherwise indicated.
Figures C-H up to Tempo 1, play tremolo only on the notes indicated by tremolo markings.
From Tempo 1 to the end use tremolo unless other wise indicated.
