Performed by Borealis Saxophone Quartet from their CD, NORTH bit.ly/2k2KuHO
,In 1998 the Apollo Saxophone Quartet was commissioned by the ISCM World Music Days to compose a project that was influenced by the seasons. In collaboration with poet Lemn Sissay, each member of the Quartet wrote a work - Will wrote Lost Bronze. All of the works were recorded by the ASQ & Lemn on the CD Words & Pictures.
A subsequent version for stand alone saxophone quartet was approved by Will and transcribed by Mélina Zéléniuc, a member of the Borealis Saxophone Quartet, who recorded this arrangement on its CD The North in 2014.
Will Gregory writes; “I associate Autumn with melancholy feelings. Bhuddists believe melancholia to be very beautiful because it represents our most attuned perception of the world: i.e. utterly un-self-deluding...”
