Trio for flute, violin and piano was composed by Geraldine Green for the Oakmount Trio.
'Trio' consists of four contrasting movements encompassing a wide range of emotions & musical challenges.
After beginning gently with the calm, almost child-like innocence of the first movement, the second movement is fast and energetic with much humour. The third is based on a melody which opens and concludes the movement, framing a more serious and tragic middle section. The final fourth movement is filled with joyous humour and fast, wild energy, bringing the work to a glittering and triumphant close.
