Emma Rawicz’s first solo saxophone piece, Solitudinal, brings the spirit of live improvisation into a through-composed work that feels both freeing and expressive.
Solitudinal is Emma Rawicz’s debut composition for solo saxophone. She wrote it with the same approach she takes to a live improvisation in her concerts, blending fluidity and freedom within a fully notated piece. Solo saxophone can feel exposed, yet it also offers a unique sense of freedom. In this short score Emma explores space, tonality and motifs, creating a celebration of being alone rather than loneliness.
