"Shahoozie" is a heavily Jazz-influenced piece for Saxophone Quartet. Each member of the ensemble is given an opportunity to come to the forefront in the music, with Soloistic passages allowing them to demonstrate the flexibility of each instrument, in turn. Extraneous musical techniques are also used to create a sinister edge to the music, in addition to allusions to the Jazz medium (i.e. Mimicking a high-hat etc.), which allows for a few surprises along the way!
