The 3 Movements contain varied ostinatos coloured by very pianistic writing in both parts. The first movement consists of two sections, the first quite rhapsodic in character whilst the second is more rigid and violent. The Second movement is a hypnotic nocturne based on the poem attributed to Lady Sarashina, and the final movement is a relentless toccata.
The Piece was awarded the Gunther Bialas Prize in 2010 and was first performed by the Yordanova & Kyurkchiev Piano Duo in December 2011.
