Nemesis by Andy Scott is a dynamic three-movement work for soprano saxophone and vibraphone. Composed between 1996 and 1998, the piece blends contemporary classical style with strong jazz and Latin influences throughout.
The second movement contains a short improvised section. A fully written-out alternative solo is also provided for players who prefer not to improvise. This makes the work accessible for a wide range of performers while keeping its creative spirit intact.
Originally written for soprano saxophone and vibraphone, Nemesis has been successfully recorded by Rob Buckland and Simone Rebello on their CD Towards the Light.
This saxophone and percussion duo piece is an excellent choice for recitals, competitions, and professional performances.
