Scored for solo saxophone 'Eighteen' is a dynamic exploration of rhythm, energy, anglular intervals and melodic development. Notable for a sound world that also includes harmonics and false fingerings 'Eighteen' includes a quote from 'Happy Birthday' towards the end of the piece! Premiered by Andy Scott at Sound Festival 2007. This piece was written for Spencer Moran, commissioned by his music teacher & family to celebrate the occasion of his 18th birthday.
