Alex McGery is currently studying for a bachelors in composition at the Royal Academy of Music under the tutelage of Prof. Paul Patterson and has written many pieces for orchestra as well as smaller ensembles.
"I began composing aged 16 when I started writing music on the guitar for the rock band that I was playing in as the drummer. I then became interested in electronic and film music and started writing my own pieces with the computer. It wasn't until I was about 18 that I became interested in orchestral music when my nan bought me a CD of some of the classics from the repertoire. From then on I taught myself piano and to read music in order to become an orchestral composer and film composer." http://alexmcgery.wix.com/composer |
