This is a learning resource suitable for all musicians, at all levels.
Print off the PDF and apply the process to a piece of music that you are learning. Using this method helps you drill down into the music and speeds up the learning process. It stimulates deep thought and understanding of the music you are learning. It prompts you to explore deeper into the music helping you to understand it better.
It acts as a guide so you can focus on all the sections of music. When you feeling tired, have little time to practice or feel overwhelmed, it helps you to keep track of where you are up to, what to study next, what you need to do next in your practice sessions and allows you to simply focus on what needs doing to learn that piece of music.
Two PDFs are supplied - one blank template plus one 'mock' filled out version so that you can see the learning process.
How to use - simple method
AVAILABLE in portrait and landscape formats for you to print off at home

How to use - simple method
- Use one sheet per piece that you are practicing
- Fill out everything on the left hand side of the page (landscape version)
- Then divide your piece into logical (not too large) sections on the right hand side
- Tick off the boxes on the right hand side as you work through them in your practice sessions.
- start by playing your chosen section SLOWLY in the correct rhythm. Preferably with a metronome! Increase the tempo gradually over the course of each practice session. Keep it slow and only move up a tempo when it's comfortable. When it's at the correct tempo you can add a final tick in the tempo section.
- work on different sections (which could all be at different stages of learning/speed) in the same practice session
- Mix it up and dive into different sections when learning a new piece, (so that you are not always starting at the beginning of a piece).
- Always start learning each section SLOWLY.
