Sax Assault are twelve saxophones (sopranino, sopranos, altos, tenors, baritones and bass) with keyboards, electric bass and drums.

The excellent results are to be heard on 'Bang!'. This will be a must for sax devotees and not just because of the groups' unprecedented line-up. It's quite an experience to hear the full richness of the textures which Andy Scott draws out of the ensemble. The steaming three tenor chase on 'Time Please' gets locked into the sort of high energy groove which always goes down well, but I've found myself returning to 'Eclipse', a much gentler piece which created some particularly pensive moments."
